Adele is very talented, she has an amazing voice, is a great songwriter, and the two songs she played without her back-up band were awesome. But she mostly sang along to studio musicians, who sounded more like a late show/vegas band and it wasn’t a good fit for her style. It seemed like cheesy, music industry karaoke to me. So listen to her albums but avoid the live spectacle, it was frankly gross. Even the audience seemed insincere. Sorry if you were one of them, I just didn’t buy the gooey enthusiasm.

My Fuji doesn’t taste like an apple. It tastes like an apple impostor. Someone sneaked me a test tube apple or something. It kind of smells like Pumpkin. It’s a Gee Whiz apple. Do you want to know how the company got their name?

One day Grady (the proprietor) and a friend were in the orchard talking about a new variety of peach Auvil Fruit Company was growing, the friend said “Grady, when people eat your fruit they say, Gee Whiz that is a good piece of fruit.”

Well, there you have it. I don’t feel that way about this particular apple. I do not believe the hype. I don’t want a scientific apple, I want a tasty, all natural apple. Lab coats and apples make me sad.

You just wouldn’t believe the mood I’m in today. What a mood, I tell ya. gee whiz. I’m sure glad it’s Friday. I’m like a squeaky wheel that’s not allowed to make a sound and I think I’m about to bust a spring, or an axle or something. Better just go home and stay out of trouble. We are going to roast a chicken tonight and just stay in like good little monkeys. Tomorrow I’ve got a birthday party to attend, possibly dinner with friends, and Sunday my friend is singing with Conspiracy of Venus at the Make Out Room in San Francisco. It’s an action-packed weekend full of gen-u-ine fun making.

Some adages/weirdnesses of the week:
Squeaky wheels only make noise when they are in motion.
From Tom: Adele’s band was something like adding artificial lemon flavoring in lemonade but having real lemon juice in dish soap. Huh?

Adele at the Warfield, I kinda hated it.
