Dear Tom,
\nHappy Anniversary. I can’t believe we’ve only been officially married for 1 year, and I mean that in a good way. And no, I will never understand what took you so long to ask. In retrospect, things worked out just great with the timing and all, so you’re off the hook on that one.<\/p>\n

You are the greatest husband of all time. I am a very lucky girl to call you my husband. I can’t wait for you to get home at night and I hate it when the weekend comes to an end. I just love you to pieces and I want to be with you all the time. I never thought I could spend 9 years with a person and still have my heart race whenever you walk in the room. I love my new name and my new giant family. I love feeling part of a big family. And I love the chaotic times as much as the calm ones.<\/p>\n

Look at all that we’ve done in the last year. We’ve moved to Portland, we have a great and terrible\/wonderful dog, we manage to keep our jobs and save some money in a tough economy. There were music gigs and art shows, trips to Hawaii and Cape May. There were lots of good times with old friends and new friends, and old friends that are new again. Our little house is so great and I’m so happy we took the plunge and moved towns. I miss parts of San Francisco, mostly friends, sometimes weather, but I love this town so much and I think it’ll only grow on us even more.<\/p>\n

I am so proud of your musical achievements in the last couple of years. I can’t wait to hear the final version of your new EP. And what a lucky girl I am to have a whole album created as a gift to me<\/a>. I am so happy you have your amazing man cave in our house. I want you to keep going and never stop. I’m going to make sure you always have time for music.<\/p>\n

I’m so excited about our next chapter together. I am so grateful for your patience, understanding and encouragement towards my life goals. You keep me grounded but you also push me forward. You give me the courage to take risks. There are great things in store for both of us in the coming years.<\/p>\n

Here is to a great first year of marriage and to the many more years to come. I love you.<\/p>\n
