Quickly, let me catch you up to date. A few days ago, I decided I’d sketch something on a scrap of paper every Friday and leave it in a random place for a stranger to find. It gets me in the habit of doing more sketches and is an exercize in gift giving to total strangers. I suppose it could be categorized of random act of kindness, only I’m adding angrypirate.com to them because well… I’m very self indulgent.<\/p>\n
Today was the first installment. I carefully placed my drawing (see previous post) on a bench along Ocean Beach with a couple rocks placed on top so it wouldn’t blow away. Then I rode off on my bike. I felt exhilerated. I daydreamed about someone finding it and being really happy to rececive a nice drawing on a foggy Friday afternoon. Maybe they were having a bad day and this is just what they needed to brighten their day. I admit, I behaved like a common criminal and returned to the scene of the crime to see if it was still there. I only waited 5 minutes and it was, which made me a little sad. I don’t know if I should allow myself to go back to the scene of the crime. I don’t think I want to know. My curiosity always gets the best of me.<\/p>\n
I was thinking about accentuating the whole “gift” concept by framing the drawings in my cheap Ikea frames (lord knows I’ve got enough of them) and tieing a ribbon around them. Wouldn’t that be wonderful to find? I like it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
