I am going to eat rice for two months until my book is done. I can just throw it in the zojirushi and a little while later, I have a hot, tasty bowl. I’ll add some vegetables and beans in there, but mainly, I’m focusing on rice. Today I got some amazing smelling Jasmine rice and this strange and very large bag of something called 70% polished California brown short grain. It’s not brown, I mean it used to be brown, but it’s been un-browned. I’m not sure what the difference between white and un-browned is, but I can say for a fact that I like it. It has more flavor and is a little more “toothy.” and it’s organical so when I have kids they won’t have three heads, which is always nice.

I also got some nori so I can try out our sushi rice in the ole zojirushi. I picked up some inari pockets because they are my favorite rice snack, and a bag of azuki beans. I guess azuki beans and rice is a good combination, or so I’ve been told. And to wash it all down, I got a fresh bag of Genmai cha brown rice tea. I also hear green tea rice is quite delicious so I know what to do with my leftovers. Mmm, how about this, green tea rice with coconut milk poured over the top and sprinkled with sesame seeds.

I was all excited about showing you the conte drawing of a cow skull that I am doing in class but I was more excited about rice, and I forgot to take a picture. You’ll have to wait a couple more days. Not to brag or anything, but it’s pretty nice.

Ha ha, I get to bore you with tedious information about the rice in my life.
