I am so sore today and waddling like a penguin. A week and a half ago I was swimming and had some unpleasant stomach pains, that was the first time I noticed it. I was pretty sore for a few days and getting our of bed was a challenge. I figured I probably strained my stomach muscles. I also noticed a muscle just above my belly button would knot up like a rock, then eventually soften back up again. Not fun. I’m hoping I don’t have the dreaded muscl separation that can occur during pregnancy. Sort of like pregnancy hernia.

I thought I was getting better but the pain got worse yesterday. Lots of painful knots all around my belly, mostly around my belly button. I made Tom feel my belly and the pain from being poked at made me squeal. Sleeping was painful but getting up was even more painful. I stayed in bed today til almost 10. I didn’t even get up to eat! Now that’s serious stuff. I called the midwives and they suggested arnica gel (duh, why didn’t I think of that last week?), raspberry tea, magnesium and calcium. and suggested I try a massage. I got the arnica and magnesium and Calcium. Magnesium is supposed to have the added benefit of relieving constipation. I am all over that. My belly feels to sore for a proper massage so I think I’ll hold off on that.

Today, instead of digging up the front yard like I really want to do, I am reclining on the couch with my doggy, feet on the ottoman. My goal is to stay here as long as I can stand it. Later on we got to a BBQ where I hope to do more reclining.

I see the midwives Tuesday and they’ll hopefully rule out muscle separation. Maybe the June bug is just growing a lot these days. I’m back up to the weight I was a month ago andy belly feels tight and big.

My stomach muscles are rebelling against me.
