Knock wood. I worked this weekend and I made progress but it just wasn’t at the same pace as the last couple of months. I suppose this is a good thing. It just makes me nervous about getting everything finished this week. Maybe I’m just getting used to it more.
I took some time this weekend to feed Tom healthy and delicious meals. Friday night we had bruschette with gorgonzola, carmelized onions and fresh figs followed by a wild musroom and kale risotto.

Saturday I made us some eggs and toast for breakfast. We had a smoothy as a snack and for dinner had bruschette with tomato, garlic and basil followed by the possibly the best stew I’ve ever made. I cooked it up in the Le Crussette and it has beef, onion, shallot, garlic, mushroom, carrot, fingerling potatoes, fresh sage from my herb box, kale, and japanese eggplant. Sounds like a lot of ingredients but it was perfectly balanced and crazily delicious if I do say so myself.

Yesterday I made pork chops with kale and fingerling potatoes. As an appetizer I made a risotto cake in the shape of a heart. What a sap.

I guess this is my way of trying to help Tom get better faster. It feels terrible not being able to do anything so I’m going to feed him back into health. I can almost here my future kids saying “mom, stop trying to feed me!”

I am still suffering from visions of the crash. I wish they would go away. Everything is fine. Tom will play guitar again before you know it and aside from us both always knowing when it’s going to rain, it’ll all be a vague memory.

Did I mention that I have three tests today? I took the first two this morning. I don’t know how I did. I guess I did ok. Hopefully Bs atleast. I couldn’t remember what the decisive battle of the Austro-Prussian war was. I spent some time studying at the Reverie cafe on Sunday where my favorite sexy tail-less cat lives. She is very photogenic and has made it into my Photoshop book. I love my new camera.

This week is the final push for the book. Once I take my test tonight, it’s full speed ahead. I will not stop until victory is mine. We leave next Tuesday morning for the east coast and I want to be doing nothing but editing on my trip. The deadline is Friday. I hope I make it. I would love to have a weekend.

I guess I might never feel the pressure of this last segment of the book. Knock wood.
