I find myself asking is this a failure or a success? And I spend a great deal of time asking myself what makes an object a failure or success. And what can be gleaned from it’s making. The puff ball made me think about lashing, so I went out in the yard. I gathered some sticks for a lashing project too, and I’ll get to that in the next couple days. I wondered what would keep a wreath-like object from turning into a Christmas decoration? Clean lines? Geometry? Is it even possible to wrap twigs up in a wreath and have it ever not look like a decoration? What if you took it out of context? What if this is too much thought over a wreath?<\/p>\n
In any case, these are meant to be quick decisions and executions. Done. Move on to the next thing. Amassing a collection of manipulated objects made from every day materials, that’s the goal here. Nothing else should get in the way of that.
