We spun wool yarn from a sheep my teacher was acquainted with. It smelled like driving around in Ireland. Friday’s class is intro to textiles and I think it’s going to be a great end to my weeks. I have just one more class to begin and I’ve got the same teacher for another class so I expect it’s going to be great too. I’m starting to think they shouldn’t call it ‘art’ school, they should call it ‘fun’ school. But I suppose young students have a hard enough time convincing their parents to pay their way through ‘art’ school. So scratch that idea.

This week I signed up to do a presentation on September 21st and one on October 18th. I felt like I should get some things off my plate since I assume the semester will get harder, not easier. I found out you are expected to do about 6 hours of homework a week per studio class. I have 4 studio classes and a math class. Not sure how I’m going to organize my time. If I add up the class and homework time I’m expected to put in, it ends up at around 57 hours a week. It should be very interesting trying to juggle work, open studios, and school. It’s looking like school work will take as much time as I feed it, I was imagining that might be the case when I signed up. Reality is so much more real than imagination. Go figure.

I worked all day in the studio yesterday and today I’m getting some Open Studios deadlines taken care of, plus doing a little research for my first presentation. Maybe I’ll do the presentation on Theosophy and De Stijl? Not sure yet. I’ve changed my mind a few times already.

My birthday is just 6 days away! We are going away for the weekend to Big Sur, should be a fun time. I’m glad my birthday is near the beginning of the semester, and not the end.

My Friday class was completely awesome as well.
