So yeah, 5 classes in one semester is a lot. It’s doable, but just the task of managing assignments and getting readings done is going to be a challenge. Remember Alanna, art and articles are your only work this semester. You must get through this semester, it’s a big hump and the other side of it is a pleasant place, so much more pleasant if you can just stay on top of things. If I finish these 5 classes, it most probably means I will be done with City College, at least as far as this BFA is concerned, and that will feel wonderful. So stay on it woman!
I’m trying to come up with a system so I can keep track of my homework. The sidekick won’t work because I can’t whip it out in class and scribble on it. I’m trying a small notepad in hopes that as long as it’s within arms reach, I can use it as a central checkpoint for all my class work and due dates. Maybe once I get into a groove, it’ll go more smoothly.
This week I must send out spam for next saturday’s opening at the Studio gallery, many of you will be getting your postcards today and tomorrow. I have a couple of pieces I need to work on tomorrow night after school, in hopes that I can do a couple more shows soon. I still haven’t gotten my artist portfolio to ArtWorkSF but I’m waiting on a big batch of slides so I’m using that as an excuse. Tuesday? Yeah, I can get it all packed up on tuesday. It’ll only take a couple hours. Deep breath. Seventeen weeks to go.
