Is This Your Celebrated Summer?

Last night the graduating senior painters had a party at teacher Mary Snowden’s house to celebrate our graduation. It felt so great. I feel like we have a community finally. It has only felt like that since the end of last semester for me. We had a blast and kept Mary up too late. There was lots of “I love you”s and “you are great” and the best for me was when Angela and Kara told me I was beautiful. They said I had a classic beauty. It made me gush. I’ve always felt awkward at school. Every day there is a constant reminder that I’m getting older and I see changes in my face and my body that are at times scary and frustrating. And to hear that from my classmates meant so much. I feel pretty today. So thanks guys!

I’m working on a yearbook, did I mention that? I’m carrying my camera around with my everywhere and trying to get as many pictures as possible. I’m trying to get everyone involved, so we can create a great book of faces and memories to take with us. Who knows where we will all by in 5 or 10 years. Who knows what the future holds. It’s so bright, I gotta wear shades.

Tom went with me last night and had a great time, although i bet he is cursing my name today for keeping him up late. It was great to have him there, to show him this world I’ve been immersed in for the last two years and for him to feel a part of it too, and of course, everyone loves Tom so he was the life of the  party.
