Donating stuff

So I’ve been thinking about donations and here’s what I’ve found so far:

Donate school supplies like backpacks, dictionaries, notebooks and pens to foster kids at Sleep Train. See details on sleeptrain.com. Through September 15th, 2008.

Donate books, cash, and materials to SF Public Library.

Donate socks, travel soaps etc, and more at atthecrossroads; helping people land jobs.

Or Donate clothes to wardrobe for community, also helps people find jobs.

Loose weight and weight watchers will donate. Through October 18th, 2008.

Casa de las Madres helps battered women. Donate your clothes, toys, anything that would help someone with a new start.

More clothes donation ideas on Yelp.

Donate a suit through Men’s Wearhouse to help unemployed men – through October 31st, 2008

Donate canned and dry goods to the sf food bank.

and if you don’t know about it, the freecycle network rocks. Find new homes for your stuff by posting your goods on a yahoo message board. I’ve gotten rid of house paint and furniture through them.

ok, now to gather up some stuff.

And I’m looking for more art auctions to donate my art to so if you hear about any more, let me know. Thanks Stephanie for telling me about the Phoenix project, fundraiser to help victims of the Tahoe Angora fire last year.
