Her ego no longer fits into her apartment

I’ve been getting so much praise lately. It’s been really incredible. Anna Conti posted a very nice comment to the octopus painting. Bradley posted this on his blog:

“Alanna met up with me in Portland. It was great to see her. She was selling some paintings, and I bought two of them. Not because sheâ??s my friend, but because when I held them, I knew that they must be in my home.”

A stranger emailed me this about the new bird and ship encaustics:

“Awesome encaustic….what is it…fabric, paper I’m just blown away…..”

This morning I woke up to find someone who bought The Family Pet from me last month would like to buy the penguin encaustic.

A teacher from the Omega Institute in New York wants to show prints of my new encaustics to her workshop.

When I saw Kelly from 20 minute loop in Portland, she told me about 5 times how much she likes my paintings, and made me blush a lot.

How incredible is all that? It’s a strange feeling. I make art that people like. How did that happen? I feel like I’m on such a roll, it will be sad when I get back from my painting workshop in France to find that I’m broke and have to find work. Maybe I should just let myself get into debt a little longer and see how far I can take it.

Speaking of, I am off to some shops to try to get some consignments started with my encaustic collage.
