A fictional conversation that has nothing to do with real life situations and therefore should not be misconstrewed as referring to any real persons:
them: Do X.
me: Are you sure? that seems a little weird.
them: (vague and confusing answer only partially confirming that you should in fact do what you are confirming they want you to do.)
them: There seems to be a rash of X. Why did you do X?
me: Because you told me to. I even douple checked with you because it seemed kinda weird.
them: (standard politician’s answer and not admitting fault followed by “we are doing you a favor by fixing your mistakes”)
me: you told me to do it that way, I was following directions
them: (repeat of standard politician’s answer until I stop trying to respond)
