I ate apple 128 while hiding out in Tom’s man cave. I needed to get some serious work done and our dog Mississippi is being a little brat, as usual. I’ve got my apple, some strawberries, and some juice down here. I’m plowing through bugs ten times faster than I would if I were upstairs trying to manage her tantrums. I wish she could hang out down here with me. She just likes to chew on things if we don’t give her our undivided attention. I left the music on upstairs for her. I wonder what she thinks of Guv’ner and Archers of Loaf. I can hear her little feat tippy tapping away up there.
apple 127 was eaten as part of the ridiculously delicious and dangerously lactose laden emmentaler cheese fondue we enjoyed at Papa Haydn on Milwaukie in Portland. I paid for it dearly later on but it was worth it. We love this place. As if the cheese weren’t enough to send me over the edge, I had to finish up the meal with a slice of German Chocolate cake.
apple 126 was eaten while we made stuff out of wood. We visited the Rebuilding Center in Portland and bought some recycled 2x4s. We are making two work benches. One for the laundry room so Tom can have a tinkering station, and one for me so I can have the ultimate encaustic station. This was our first ever visit to the Rebuilding Center. The place is chock full of old cabinets, bath tubs, lighting fixtures and doors, all for cheap, cheap, cheap. It’s a great resource if you are fixing up your house or looking for cheap materials for projects.
It was very cold today so I cooked up apple 125 with some cinnamon sugar and currants. I had to add a sprig of mint since it’s growing in our front yard now.
I’m celebrating our new lazy susan with apple number 124. We don’t really have a table big enough to need a lazy susan, but I think everyone should have one of these in their life. Maybe I can use it for crafts when Tom isn’t looking.
