Mmmm, that sounds nice

I went out for my daily marathon training. In just a 4 mile loop from my house I saw gophers, blackbirds, ducks, seagulls, turtles, koi, doggies and even a cat on a leash. She was sitting next to the pond purring away with a look of absolute bliss on her face. I went to the top of Stow Island and got a nearly 360 degree panorama of the city. There are lots of flowers in bloom and the eucalyptus trees are always beautiful. I can’t see how I can go for months at a time without entering our glorious park. These things happen I guess.

Strange the gamut of emtions I go through on my daily runs. I start out feeling sluggish. Once I reach the inner recesses of the park, I feel a tremendous surge of joy when I feel like I could just cry from happiness, and then once I return to the cars and noise, I enter into a state anxiety about all the things I have to do. Maybe I should just live in a tent in the park. Mmmm, that sounds nice.

Tonight I think we are riding bikes somewhere for food and drinks. Maybe the beach chalet. It’s a little foggy though, we might be hanging inside by the fireplace tonight. Mmmmm, that sounds nice. Strange to sit by a fireplace in the middle of “Summer.” The following quote has been coming up a lot this summer:

“The coldest winter I ever spent was summer in San Francisco.”
–Mark Twain
