Remember what my old desk looked like? Here’s a pic. Well, I decided to bite the bullet and go to IKEA yesterday. I got the added bonus of a free piece of cake. Turns out IKEA is celebrating their 20th anniversary. New desk AND free cake? That’s just too good to be true. After some intensive labor, I now have this desk:

I’m pretty damn happy. I can work on my computer standing up, which means I’ll now be the dancing writer. Tom vetoed the disco ball idea but I’ll live.
Now I have a small desk that needs a new home. Are you in need of a desk? It’s small but it served me well. I don’t recommend working on it for 12 hours a day. It measures 21″ deep by 49″ wide. It has a slide out keyboard tray and a little slot for your computer. I’ll post some pics in a little while so you can see it without all the stuff piled on it. It needs a paint job but other than that, it’s a fine desk. I got it at IKEA about 6 or 7 years ago. Boy, time flies.
I’m also going to need to find a home for my inkjet printer. I am really sad to see it go. It’s been such a great little printer. The cartridges are way less expensive than the new one I bought. The prints are dandy, I’ve used them for creating promotional books for my art and people are always inpressed with the quality.
So fancy new desk and printer for me. I must be a professional freelancer or something.
