Since we moved into this 1908 craftsman 5 months ago, the work of William Morris keeps coming up. When thinking about furnishing and decorating a craftsman, it’s pretty hard to not stumble across quotes and ideas of morris’s. Most famously: â??Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautifulâ?
Then I discovered Hillary Pfeifer is doing a large installation project based on a William Morris wallpaper patter. So vie been pouring over images of morris’s work, and thinking about fabric and wallpaper patterns. Yesterday I picked up some of morris’s books from the library.
