Getting back to oil painting has made me realize that with each painting comes problems to resolve. And instead of getting stuck on one painting, I’m going to take the ideas I’m getting from this one and apply them to the next one. Otherwise, with my time constraints, I’ll never get anywhere. And besides, I am sorta happy with this one right now, for what it is.
I thought a great deal about the Bob Ross=iness of this one, or landscape painting, like the kind you can buy in outdoor art fairs, and I don’t want to wind up with that. And of course, when I posted this on facebook, that was the second comment that arose, a tease about Bob Ross. So the good news is, I saw it coming, now what do I do with that? How do I paint puffy little clouds without having Bob Ross immediately come to mind? That’s my next problem to tackle. Might take a while to figure that one out. But I have ideas.
