1. Spend as much time as possible working. Breaks for eating are ok but leave dishes in sink. No housework, no errands unless they absolutely can’t happen while Juniper’s with you.
2. If you’re tired, do jumping jacks and drink coffee. Ignore the “I don’t feel like it” attitude, you do feel like it, just just don’t know it yet.
3. If you are feeling blocked or uninterested, start something new in a new medium.
4. Do you really need that art supply? You probably have something you can use instead.
5. Listen to inspiring music at a loud volume.
6. Wear comfortable shoes if you’re working on your feet.
7. Take a day off every once in a while.
8. Try to do computer work at night unless you have a deadline or if it’s part of a project.
9. Stay off social media sites. Don’t make or return phone calls.
10. Enjoy the time and if it feels too much like drudgery, change the scenery, work upstairs, work outside, at a cafe, at the library. Or take a walk around the block, go get an ice cream, look at the trees and plants.
11. Breakthroughs often happen from accidents, mistakes, and being able to recognize a thread from previous work when it pokes it’s head out at you.
