We got our rental car today and are just wandering the island. We went
to akaka falls just outside of hilo for some obligatory waterfall pics
then headed down to what I guess is a good swimming hole on a calm day
but it was too choppy to have any fun in today. We just had lunch (katsu
mix bento and cheeseburger) at blane’s drive inn. No more katsu for me,
it was too greasy. I had no room for portuguese donuts at tex’s so we
are now driving north west towards waimea. We have beach on today’s
agenda, other than that, its just us and the big blue whale driving
aimlessly. Yippee!
