Our neighbor Keith says the girls who lived here before us weren’t much for yard work. Turns out he would mow their lawn in exchange for a 6 pack of beer. Explains why the one who resnt us the place wasn’t sure if there was a mower in the garage. Yesterday I tackled the lawn, today it was the leaves in all the basement window sills. So many leaves. Keith says there are about 3 year’s worth, sounds about right.
Today’s apple is a Braeburn from the QFC down the road. The apples I’ve had in Portland are generally tastier on average than the ones I was getting in SF. Just closer to the source I guess. Can’t wait to see what New Leaf has for me.
Tom’s got the car today but I may be done with work for the day so I’m going to try to get to the nursery on my bike and get some fava beans, gloves, and maybe a soil tester. Maybe I should bring a sample with me just in case?
