Well I didn’t get a whole lot of writing done yesterday but I did get quite a bit of research done, got some sort of skeleton together and started to get my head around this article. By the way, where did I learn to put together an article, let alone a book. You know where? Apple Computer. Apple was my college. I learned important skills like how to write an 80 page document about a computer that doesn’t quite exhist yet, how to get along with people you don’t like, how to teach people stuff so they have a deeper understanding of the thing, not just “press this, then press that” (sadly a skill I didn’t get to use enough of in the book). I learned how to earn the trust of your collegues and employees. Leading by example, sharing your knowledge and being human is the only way. I learned how to work hard and have a good time. I learned to stand up for myself. I learned how to argue my point without blowing a head gasket. Apple was really an amazing place to cut my teeth and I still feel it’s effects in my life today. Has it really been 9 years? How strange. Seems like an eternity ago and seems like yesterday.
So anyway, tangent. Don’t know why I’m thinking about Apple today. I think I’ll be able to finish the article by tonight. That gets me all excited about thursday and friday. Many things to do before xmas. We are having dins with the sis and her present is still in pieces. We don’t even have anything for oona yet. Sure, you might be able to get away with: “sorry, you’ll have to take a raincheck” for an adult but try it on a 5 year old. Nope, ain’t happening.
I had one of those ah-ha moments last night about a painting series idea and its burning me up. Gotta get dirty with paints. Soon soon. Always soon, never now. Frustrated with impatience.
