It’s been a long productive day. After some talk and deliberation, it
was decided that I should swap out the three canvases I was working on
asap and star a-fresh. I got one started and sketched out a second in
charcoal. Three of us drove to carcassone for art supplies, special
snacks for later, and an afternoon beer. Then much more painting, goat
cheese with honey and hazelnuts with local muscat wine, then slides
(which included a couple thomas kinkades, yeah! Painter of light!) some
of jan harrison and damn, I forgot the other. Then more painting, too
much wine, a weird creme brulee cigarillo (mini cigar, can’t remember
what they are really called, I now call them disgusting) then some karl
zero on my ipod and some ice cream before bedtime.
We are hanging our show tomorrow which will be covered by two local
papers. I got my copy of the flier and I’m very excited. The room is
beautiful. We are showing in the abbey which is the one special place
that makes caunes-minervois famous. It feels like a great honor.
