I got a very wonderful complement from a stranger today. She works for ArtWorkSF and was at SomArts helping artists pick up their paintings from the Cafe Show. When I told her my name, she started gushing about how much people loved my paintings. He said they made people smile and everyone wanted to eat them. She told me “Your art makes people happy. Do you know what that means? It mean s you have an imparative to paint.” It’s the nicest thing a stranger could have ever said to me. She was encouraging me to join ArtWorkSF and was digusted that I’m not showing in galleries. She was very nice to me and here I am, all stinky and tired and hung over, unable to really tell her how much I appreciated her words. I guess I’ll just have to show my appreciation in actions. But there’s no time for that until the book is done. And one more nice thing is that I sold one of my paintings. One of the birds. she said the woman was so thrilled.
Thank you nice lady. I’m sorry I didn’t get your name. It’s been a rough morning.
