Guess what, I earned my coffee yesterday. 7 of my pieces sold at the Studio gallery yesterday. That means I’ve sold 9 pieces out of 13! I now have to bring them more. This is more fantastic than can be imagined. Because my pieces sell, it means the gallery will probably like me more and want to carry my work, this means I’ll have semi regular gallery exposure. That means maybe beterrn paintings and articles, I can trickle in enough money to stay afloat for the next few months while I wait for my book royalties to come in. Just yesterday I was adding up all the expenses in my head and thinking to myself, “there is no way I can afford to get through this BFA without taking on another major contract or taking semster or two off to get out of debt.” But maybe I can, maybe I can get some regular checks rolling from art. Maybe I really can make it as an artist. The demand for my paintings is greater than I can supply. This is a happy thing.
I’m still sick as a dog. Bleck.
