Assignment from my narrative drawing class. Make a list of drawing constraints. These constrainst should be practiced daily for x amount of days. In this case, it’s 1 week. I’ve always wanted to do this so I had a fun time coming up with my list.
– Draw everything you eat each day. Describe how you feel.
– Draw with crayons. Follow a theme like : copy a piece of famous artwork, abstraction, fruit still lives, themes from childhood, covers of magazines, celebrity photos.
– Draw to music. Draw what comes to mind.
– Sing while you draw. Draw about what you sing. Make up lyrics, include them in the drawings.
– Draw an animal being affected by global warming.
– Draw a different bug each day.
– Draw an object in your life. Pick a new object each day.
– Find an object in the world each day and draw it. Give it a story.
– Draw a different condiment each day.
– Draw with a sponge. You can shape the sponge however you like.
– Draw with food. use: coffee, beets, candy (skittles), blood oranges, chocolate, oil, etc.
– Copy a typeface. Use diaristic content that relates to the modd of the typeface.
– Draw a different breed of dog each day. List their personality traits as you see them.
– Draw a different chair each day. List their personality traits.
– Make a macaroni drawing each day (by glueing pieces of different types of pasta). Pick a theme: space, animals, famous artworks, portraits of artists or chefs, etc.
– Make a sketch about a new celebrity chef each day. Include props, and list descriptive information about the chef.
