Feeding the Feeble

It is horrible to watch Tom be in pain. I don’t know what to do with myself, so I turn to food. Before the surgery I made a big batch of coleslaw and picked up english muffins and progresso soup. I sliced the muffins so Tom can just pop them in the oven. I baked a fresh loaf of honey wheat flaxseed bread for toast and sandwiches. I opened the new milk carton and brought the cereal box down within easy reach. I made a batch of iced tea. I sliced up some cheese and opened up a packet of crackers. I put sugar in a small sugar bowl for easy access. It’s the only way I know how to help, other than propping up pillows, checking his temperature, and putting useless ice packs on his huge, thick bandage. It’s going to be a rough day and I have to go into work. I did get him the first season of Nip Tuck to keep him company and I found a cheap copy of Airplane to warp his mind with. Poor Tom. This sucks.

This is what Tom’s surgery ordeal looks like. X-rays of surgery number one and what yesterday’s surgery did.
