I ate a fuji today because Paul told me to. I like to run with the herd. He was right about it though. This one is so juicy, sweet, and crisp. I know they are supposed to be in season right now but some of the fuji’s I’ve gotten ahold of lately have been sub-par. This one is like chocolate cake with banana cream filling, only it’s an apple, so it’s nothing like cake.
Speaking of cake and apples, I was watching Eye on the Bay last night and found out about Brenda’s on Polk at Eddy. She serves up some pretty tasty sounding apple pancakes. Must try them.
While at RJ’s today, I picked up an emergency back-up Fuji and two navel oranges because they were on sale. So I guess that makes me a conformist and a consumer. Go America! This newly found American spirit fits nicely with this week’s graduation from street parking to covered parking. I can now come and go as I please without having to circle my own neighborhood for 30 minutes looking for parking. I will also probably experience less validalization (is that a word?)… vandalitization of my car. The Haight is so full of hate. But honestly, I think we may drive less now that we have a garage space, because we never have to think about moving it for street cleaning which is mostly the only time we drive it anyway.
