God as a trickster

Movie review: Adam’s Apples

I love this movie! This film is a side-splitting dark comedy involving neo nazis, God, brain tumors, crows, and apple cakes. I feel like no description I give for this movie can do it any justice but I’ll try anyway. It’s a movie about a small country church that serves as a halfway house to a small handful of ex-convicts. Each resident suffers from their own evils and addicitions. The priest tries to help them find their way by assigning them each a special task. Adam, the neo-nazi is assigned the task of baking an apple cake. Supernatural forces seem to be testing him at every turn. As the movie progresses you find that even the most evil person is good inside, despite themselves. And despite some quite violent scenes, this film is a hilarious comedy that delves into the absurdities and wonders of god and human existence. And honestly, my words don’t do this film justice. I thought this was a fantastically good time. I would watch this film many times over. There are few films in this world that I can say that about.
