I found a ladybug in the toilet at work. It was floating on it’s back,
trying desperately to right itself. I considered flushing it. I figured,
that ladybug is a goner and I’m not going to risk walking through work
with a soggy piece of toilet paper with a bug attached to it just to set
it free.
But I couldn’t push the button. I just couldn’t be responsible for
ending its life when I could give it another chance. So, I wadded up a
piece of seat cover, fished the ladybug out, and walked it through the
building to the outside world where it belongs. I let it clambor onto a
branch and here it now sits, cozied up in the nook of this branch. Go
eat some aphids, little one. Sorry I almost flushed you.
