I'm married!

This weekend Tom and I tied the knot. It was such a magical weekend. I feel so very, very, very lucky to have the most amazing people in our lives. It’s been a crazy week and I can’t wait to get into our apartment in Hilo and decompress. A run down of the last week’s events:

Saturday august 2nd Dinner with Rob, Kerry, and Giverny at Ponzu.
Sunday August 3rd – Breakfast with Rob, Kerry, and Giverny at Squat & Gobble
Monday through Wednesday, a blur of getting organized and putting the music playlist together
Thursday, dinner at our house with the family: Janise, George, Ashley, Grant, Diana, Liz, Evan, Oona, Masa, Bonnie, Dad, Lisa, and Walt.
Friday, hair braiding in the morning, packing up the car, Half moon bay by 1. The an amazing time at Repetto’s wholesale florist where Bonnie, Summe, Veronica and I made bouquets for everyone. We got back just in time for our 5 o’clock dinner at Cameron’s pub. Saturday morning, breakfast, getting ready, then moving all our stuff over to San Benito House. Veronica made me get my nails done by a professional! I had tried to do it myself and it was just terrible. Then Summer and Veronica helped with my hair and make-up. Photographs started at 12:30 then we had a little time before the 2 o’clock ceremony to hug everyone.
Our ceremony was short and very surreal. I didn’t think I was going to be able to stop crying, but actually when we started saying vows, I calmed down and was fine. I thought I was going to be a blubbery mess.
The reception was so beautiful. We had appetizers and wine, then a champagne toast from Tom and me. Tom’s brother Rob made a beautiful toast. Dinner was super yummy, I actually ate something. I tried my damnedest to spend a little bit of time with everyone, there were so many people. You don’t realize how many great friends and family you have until you get them all in one place.
We had carrot cake covered in fresh flowers.
After the wedding we hung out in the bar at San Benito and drank more wine, then went upstairs at closing time and had sun chips and granola bars. Then I got the hiccups! They would not go away. I finally just passed out with the hiccups still going.
Sunday we had breakfast downstairs at San Benito House and a BBQ on the beach that afternoon with tom’s family, Stacie, Joe, and Morris, Shelley and Pauly, Lynn and Drew, Peggy and Maria. Last night we opened our presents and I was in bed by 9 with a little bit of a fever and a bad case of the sniffles.

What an amazing, wonderful weekend. I can’t wait to get to Hawaii and decompress with Tom. It feels so sad that we both had to get up and go to work today. I miss my husband! Tonight we have another dinner with family. I may never get him alone!
