Mississippi has nightmares quite often. When she awakes, she half barks every second or two as if she’s calling out in distress to make sure we are there. We call back to her “It’s ok Mississippi, you are ok.” She’ll then usually curl up and go back to sleep.
We’re starting to think she can understand a great deal of what we say. This morning Tom said to her as he was leaving the bedroom to take her for a walk “ok, let’s go, pick up your kong.” Mississippi perked up, grabbed her kong and walked out the the living room to get ready for her walk. She definitely understands “Roxy’s” now and she will walk to the car all by herself and wait at the car door.
