My studio chair

My studio chair

At oakdale painting studio, we had the best studio chair ever. It was so
comfortable. It was like an old friend. At my new studio, I was lacking
somewhere comfortable to sit. I was really missing that old chair. I
broke down and bought this chair from salvation army for $20. It makes
all the difference in the world.

Sticking to a painting schedule can be difficult at times. Especially if
your studio is far from home and you have a million other things you
could be doing. Having a comfy chair sets the bar low for how much you
are requiring yourself to do for the day. Some days you wake up and
think, I am so tired. I don’t feel creative. But if you have a chair
like this one, all you have to do is tell yourself that you just have to
get to the studio, just sit in the chair and look for ideas in books,
maybe sketch a little, nothing more. It takes the pressure off
performing and producing. And once you are in the studio, its much
easier to get going. Is it woody allen (?) that said. 99% of success is
just showing up. This chair is so comfy, I may never leave.
