Nada Surf at the Fillmore

Thursday night we saw Nada Surf, Rogue Wave, and at the Fillmore. Nada Surf was excellent as usual. We missed the third encore and I missed them doing Meow Meow Lullaby which makes me want to cry a little, but only a little because I got to see them do it last time and I have just as much fun singing it to myself. I don’t have much to say about the show except I wish I could see them every night. Well maybe every week because I was so exhausted by the end of the night. Lots of bouncing around and sing alongs. Nada Surf on iTunes.

Rogue Wave was fantastic and charming. They had been on tour for a month and were so happy to be back in the bay area. I think it was their first time playing the Fillmore and they were so emotional over getting to play in such a historical place, it was very adorable. Plus I’m a sucker for a band that can get their family to see their shows. I have fond memories of watching my dad bounce around to my band and showing off his flourescent earplugs. Most important, the show was really amazing. So overflowing with energy. I’m officially a new Rogue Wave fan. Check them out on iTunes.

Inara George opened and was enchanting. I had never heard of her before. I guess she usually plays with a fuller band. They played sans drums. I checked out her site and I think I may buy myself an album. Check her out. Amazing voice, great songwriter. iTunes link.
