Yesterday we got up late, went over to the Martha & Brothers cafe on California and Divisadero in SF to see my work hanging (it’s up til August 1st), then drove on over to the East Bay for some nature. We walked in Tilden park in the hot, hot heat until we could walk no more, then headed back to kitty’s house and jumped in the pool for a swim. My legs are getting used to walking but it doesn’t seem to be making me any less lazy. I’m just napping on my feet now.
For dinner we went to the best Chinese place in Oakland Chinatown, it’s called Shan Dong and it’s at 328 10th street. can’t remember the cross streets, Maybe Harrison and Webster? I had originally set out to go to the Silver Dragon (recommended by my teacher), but after reading the reviews, wasn’t that excited about it. I’d rather have really good cheap food than expensive mediocre food. You are paying for atmosphere at the Silver Dragon and we were so hungry after our walk, we weren’t interested in looking at anything but food. Man, the food was so good. So, so very good. noodle-tastic noodles made fresh. And the dumplngs… oh man, so fresh and delicious.
