I went to a class at the Portland Nursery and learned all about vegetable gardening. When I got home, I brought my seedlings inside and did some more gardening around the house. I planted some fava beans and started some more seeds inside. We did some unpacking and headed over to my friend Mo’s for a dinner party. It is so nice to have friends in Portland and it was great to see her again, it’s been a few years. We met many other Portland couples and got some tips on everything from sushi to pubs to bike paths.
Today we walked down to the bakery and had bagels, then gave some boxes away via Freecycle and ventured out into the world to gather up nesting materials. We got terra cotta pots, a patio table, and outdoor mats at ikea, a sliding trash can thingy for under the sink, ice cube trays, and various other house organizing products.
Apple 71 was a Braeburn, 72 was a pacific rose, and both were delicious. I’ve been eating more apples than I’ve been recording but the others become things like juice or sauce.
