Perfecting Procrastination

The horse never left the gate yesterday. Instead, she did lots of cooking. Making food is the number one best pasttime to pursue when procrastinating on jumping into a painting project. I did go for a run yesterday, that felt so good. But then I got in the car and discovered the battery was dead. I scooted over to Kraigen and got a battery but I was too whimpy to attempt changing it myself. I had somehow convinced myself that I couldn’t scoot to the studio yesterday so I took up all sorts of other activities. I nearly finished Of Mice and Men, I went to the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate park and chased bugs around with my camera. I got some over-ripe pears for a dollar and made a sinfully delicious tart, made fresh pesto and tossed it with some lovely bowties we brought back from France, made some dried fruit and nut couscous, brewed some ice tea, and wandered the neighborhood.

Last night I wiped Tom’s sweaty brow while he toiled over the battery so we now have our car back and I have no more excuses. The bento box is packed and I’m heading back to the studio… for real this time.
