I saw the first “El Camino bell” of my journey by mission dolores. The
bells were part of a mission reglorification project started in the 30s.
Many of the stole or broken bells were replacedagain in the late 60s by
the same bell manufacturer. In 1992, see a local man decided to take it upon
himself to reinstall the bells. He found the original company in dire
financial trouble and bought the company. He found the original casts in
some back room. So the bells you see along el camino are from the
original casts from the 30s!
