Juniper is now eight months old and she’s developing faster that I can keep track of. She continues to poop in her potty, in fact, a couple times, she was trying very hard to tell me that she needed to poop, but I was too self involved in coking to stop and help her. Bad mom. But as if pooping in the potty at 8 months isn’t amazing enough, today she started doing two big new baby moves. She can sit up from laying down and she can pull herself up to standing and stand for quite a long time without falling down. I really can’t believe it.
So, big things afoot around here. She’s sleeping in pretty long stretches at night but despite that, I’m exhausted. She’s been nursing a lot so I guess she’s taking it outta me, literally. She is the happiest, hungriest baby I’ve ever seen. She’s waving at everyone, did I mention that new amazing trick? She even likes high fiving. She enjoys getting most of her meals through finger foods and even tries to scoop up her food with her spoon. Some meals, she even gets most of the food in her mouth, though most days, there’s a lot of scraps left in the chair. Mississippi tries hard to be patient and wait… well, no she doesn’t, she’s a greedy little pig and as soon as I lift Juniper out of the chair, Mississippi does a nose dive into it to get the food out. I do a lot of leg wrestling with her to try and get her to wait until I clean it up.
Foods she enjoys include but are not limited to: cauliflower, chick peas, spinach, chard, peas, green beans, carrots, yams, quinoa, oats, banana, apple, pear, mango, strawberry, avocado, turkey, brown rice, prune, squash, tofu, yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese, purely-o’s, almond milk, fizzy water, blueberry, peach, edamame, kiwi, hmmm I think that abot covers it. I think it’s funny that many of these foods I didn’t eat until I was an adult. Things sure have changed food-wise in this country.
I really can’t believe how fast things are moving now. She’s so strong and so social. She makes eye contact with everyone and loves being out in the world with people. I think we ma go to the baby gym tomorrow so she can practice standing up some more. Super baby!
She’s got crazy baby bird fuzz on her head now. Looks blondish, with maybe a little bit of red. She can get a pretty nice wispy fauxhawk when she wants.
