Tiny kitchens are no excuse

Tom and I have been living together over 7 years now. Our kitchen is so small we have to shimmy by each other, there’s only room for one and a half in there. We have an apartment-sized fridge and our oven has no outside vent, so all the heat made in the kitchen, says in the kitchen. We have a small table with just enough room for the both of us to squeeze in. If you we have a guest, we unfold one side and add a folding chair, any more than one guest and we eat in the living room.

In the last 7 years, I’ve made more tasty food than any other time in my life. I store more foods like fresh fruits, extra soups and stocks, extra meat we find on sale. The small size of our kitchen has certainly not hindered us from making some fabulous meals. So this article about small kitchens, out today on NYTimes.com speaks straight to my heart. Sigh… I’m actually going to miss our little kitchen if we ever move.
