Today I discovered I might be a geek

After a full day of classes, I walked into the Science building for my fifth and final class of the day. I don’t know if I’ve ever been in the science building at CCSF. I was immediately drawn to a very wonderful model of what I thought was a dinosaur but it turns out it was a very early mammal. This fascinated me to no end. Then I turned around and found molds of dinosaurs and all kinds of exciting stuff. I couldn’t walk 5 feet down the hall without getting drawn in to some display or picture. I saw the most exquisite drawing of a Hepatitis particle, then some maps, everywhere I looked there were wonderful things to gaze upon. Even the people in the building seemed nicer. I wanted to be their friends. I wanted to take every class in the building. There were places to buy chemicals and strange labs and fascinating rooms. I felt like I’d found something I’d been looking for and didn’t know it. Who knows, maybe I have a future in scientifc illustration. I certainly don’t want to be a specialist but maybe there is something important here. Science and art. The pairing makes so much sense to me. It is all so wonderful. Old things and stinky things and simple things and complex things and, and, and. Oh, life is so very short when there are so many wonderful things to learn.
