I took a walk today. I started at oakland aquatic park, down tio jack
london square, then ro chinatown to poke around the open market, a few
loops around chinatown, then to the oakland museum. What a great place.
$5 with a student I’d gets you into the three main galleries (art,
history, natural science) as well as two special exhibits. Lots of sea
life in the natural history section and lots of bay area artists in the
art section. They have two frank lobdells, one of my favorites and a
piece or two from current bay area art teachers, including one or two
from cca. The people are more than helpful, I had a lady following me
for a while, telling me all about this or that exhibit. Now I’m heading
back to the open market for some mint and maybe some stone fruits.
