Saturday San Francisco was taken over by zombies. I was too lazy to get off the couch so I had to just enjoy the photos.
I spent some time in the studio yesterday and am nearly done with one of my pieces for the Open Studios exhibition at SomArts. I get to hang two pieces this year because I’m registered for two weekends. I also got my postcard designed and sent off to the printer. If you’d like me to mail you a postcard of my two shows in October in San Francisco, you can email me your address. Or if you prefer, you can send me your email. I don’t typically send more than one email out a month and you can always ask to be removed.
This weekend was all about balancing my need for pre- start of school laziness with my giant list of things I need to get done for art, school, life, and work. I think I managed pretty good. My laziness was a little too productive though. I made a totally insane chocolate cake which included 2 sticks of butter, a half a cup of ground almonds, 10 ounces of chocolate, 5 eggs and some heavy cream. We had a roast chicken with watercrest and grilled figs on saturday and last night tom made a sausage pasta. We have enough leftovers to feed a small army.
I wonder where Mod is and if she’s doing ok. I she back from school yet? I’m starting to get anxious about starting school. I can’t sleep very well. They are interviewing people at my work to take over much of my tasks. It makes me both relieved and sad. I don’t know how many hours I’ll be able to work. It’s going to be interesting finding the balance.
